In September 2013, the E-learning Team at Aberystwyth University launched the first annual AU Exemplary Course Award (ECA) to honour modules that demonstrate exemplary practice in four areas: Course Design, Interaction & Collaboration, Assessment and Learner Support. The criteria are based on the Blackboard Exemplary Course Programme (ECP), one of Blackboard’s Catalyst Awards. Training is offered to help staff in using the rubric to enhance their modules, and the handout is available for download on the website.

The main page can be found here, with training material, a downloadable rubric, and quotes from winners and panel members: http://nexus.aber.ac.uk/xwiki/bin/view/Main/AU+Exemplary+Course+Award

Pro Vice Chancellor John Grattan talks about the importance of the award, especially in connection with reward and recognition for academic staff: https://hml.aber.ac.uk/Play/1633
