ASTRONOMY

University of South Wales: This animation describes the interior of the Sun and the nuclear reactions that occur at its heart. It also demonstrates how solar flares erupt from the surface of the sun. This collection presents lectures and first-class animations to help introduce our current understanding of our solar system and some of its stars and planets, taking us on a journey of space exploration from eclipses of our Sun and Moon to our place in the Milky Way, from the Orion Nebula and Jovian Moons to the phenomenon of retrograde orbits.

This video is a sample from a collection entitled ‘Our Amazing Universe’ which is available from USW on iTunes U.
